Singapore Dollar Weakens Slightly as U.S.-Iran Talks in Focus — Market Talk

The Singapore dollar weakens slightly against its U.S. counterpart in the Asian session as traders digest U.S.-Iran talks. U.S. President Trump told reporters that talks with Iran were in their "final stages." However, "Iran was reportedly still reviewing the text of any proposed agreement and had not yet formally responded as of Wednesday evening," MUFG Bank's Michael Wan says in a research report. This leaves the "durability of the rally [in some markets] the central question for today's session," the senior currency analyst adds. The U.S. dollar is 0.1% higher at 1.2794 Singapore dollars.
